MMORPG is the most popular of the MMOG kind. It is an online role-playing game wherein thousands of people joined their forces in an online world. The concept of online playing has wind up MMORPG into its own confidential field of video gaming. Most players are now addicted to Role-playing and the extra features of live virtual world increased the addiction. The genre may result dangerous happenings if it is not dealt correctly. MMORPGs have affected the entire entertainment field. In the search of a PC game aisle through all the RTS, first person shooters, and simulations, a player will find nothing but online role-playing games. The MMORPG type was considered as the most dangerous genre in video games within the last ten years from Diablo II ,City of Heroes to Everquest II and the increasing experience of World of Warcraft. There are no signs that it will stop.
The game illustrates the idea of a virtual world where players meet, congregate, battle, and explore.Majority are pay the monthly fee which requires 5$-15$ to continue their participation in the action. To keep things continually fresh MMOGs update the game monthly with new quests, worlds, and weapons. The fun online world encounters some problems with the genre. First is the repetition or grind factor which is considered the most obvious flaw in the game-play. The reason is that the progress of the character used a level-based system wherein each level requires a definite amount of experience points to proceed to the next level. But be careful with new monsters, items, and objective along the way. Combat is very simple. It will only require one or two exceptional attacks to dispatch enemies. You need to kill hundreds or maybe thousands of same type of monsters to proceed and to gain more power. After the progression, based on the enormously slow rate, you will feel like a homeless person through a flood. People continue to pay the monthly fee due to their addiction to their virtual character or avatar. In a way, this deed is a disadvantage for the gaming industry because same people will ignore other games. Other games will feel awkward by comparison. The usual culprits why people got hook in playing these games for a long time are repetitive combat, lack of good music, and mediocre graphics. People experience mental addiction. The consistent updates every month can’t stop the people playing these types of games. Proper management of an online game can be as harmless like normal console game, you just need to have self control. Avoid tempting lures like free trials and invite-a-friend to get you into their world. Games are all about fun, just manage your time correctly. [via] |
