F2P Games Succeeded the Online Games

F2P or Free-to-play permits players to undertake a game without paying. A player must pay the subscription fee or buy in-game items if he wants to level up or go to an advanced stage. Gil Edeza, President and Chief Operating Officer of IP e-Game Ventures Inc., said that the free-to-play model has really been a game-changer. e-Games contributed 40% of the overall profits of IPVG. According to Eduardo Pasion (VP for Marketing at e-Games) the game has 10 million registered users, 2.5 million active players and 80,000 online players. Because of the launch of its newest free-to-play MMORPG (multiplayer online role-playing game), Runes of Magic, the number of players increased, as well as the returns. Another free-to-play game is FPS (first person shooter) online game which was named OP7, a game title being offered under X-Play which is a joint project of e-Games and GMA New Media. OP7 is an online FPS game that intends male players, particularly Counterstrike players. The game was created by Mgame, a Korean game development company. In this game, guns can be modified in a wide selection of parts such as Dot Sights, Scopes, Kobs, Silencers, Gun Body, Barrels, and more to create a gun unique to each player.
